BABC on ESPNU Wednesday Night

The Boston Amateur Basketball Club will take on Howard Pulley, from Minnesota, tonight at the AAU 11th Grade Gold Super Showcase, in a game that will be televised leave on ESPNU.

The BABC squad will be made up of essentially the same group that played together during the EYBL regular season, advancing all the way to the Nike Peach Jam.

One player who isn’t expected to be in action though is Terance Mann.  The Tilton School rising junior is in Orlando with his teammates, but currently leading the BABC 10th grade team in their quest for an unprecedented fourth straight AAU 10th Grade National Championship.

The 10th grade squad advanced to the semifinals of last week’s AAU Super Showcase and has opened their defense of the national championship with a 2-0 start, earning a 46-38 win over Team Reach Your Goals (NC) and a 56-50 win over Team United (NC).

The 11th grade team was not in action last week after taking part in the Peach Jam during the first week of the evaluation period.  Instead, Bonzie Colson participated in the Nike Global Challenge, where he was the event’s third leading rebounder, while Tyler Nelson took part in the Big Shots All-American Camp.

Tonight’s T.V. game will kick off what is expected to be the final AAU tournament for Colson, Nelson, and the rest of the BABC’s 2014 class.
