Auger Ivy Bound
New Hampton senior forward Mike Auger made a verbal commitment to the University of Pennsylvania on Monday, becoming the second New Hampton product to commit to an Ivy League school in the class of 2014 after Mike Leblanc's pledge to Princeton last week.
Auger had a big summer playing with the Mass Rivals, ultimately earning a plethora of division I scholarship offers. Ultimately, he cut his list to Penn, Princeton, Holy Cross, and Dartmouth, before choosing the Quakers this morning.
The six-foot-six forward is best known for being one of New England's toughest players because of his physicality and motor, but he's also a very good athlete whose perimeter skills seem to be improving along with the health of his shoulder.
Auger is also the third 2014 product from teh Mass Rivals to commit since the conclusion of the July evaluation period following in the foot-steps of Kaleb Joseph (Syracuse) and Sammy Mojica (Drexel).
Auger is the first player to commit to Penn head coach Jerome Allen in the class of 2014.
