Ashton-Langford Re-Opens Recruitment

Brewster Academy and Mass Rivals point guard Makai Ashton-Langford has requested a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with UConn during November's early signing period.

The story was first reported by ESPN.

Ashton-Langford, a consensus top 50 player in the country, initially committed to UConn over Louisville and Providence in early August, but could see even more suitors now that several several high-major schools are still without a point guard in their 2017 class.

The Worcester, Massachusetts native has as good of a winning pedigree as any point guard in the country. He led the Mass Rivals to four straight championships during the July evaluation period including both the Adidas Gauntlet Finale and the Adidas Summer championships and just wrapped up a perfect season with Brewster Academy that included both the NEPSAC AAA championship as well as the National Prep Championship.
