ASFL Rosters Announced
A Shot For Life, Inc. is pleased to announce the roster of our fourth annual A Shot For Life Challenge. The event is a hybrid of a highly competitive basketball shooting competition and a fundraiser. The winner of the A Shot For Life Challenge is officially named “The Best Shooter in Massachusetts”. Thanks to their incredible generosity, the ASFL Challenge will once again be held at the University Sports Complex in Hanover on August 6th. The funds raised by the A Shot For Life Challenge benefit the Dr. Curry Research Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as Children’s Hospital.
For the first time in our history, prep school players were eligible to be picked making the selection process even more difficult than it had already been. While we have many events that are open to players of all ages and skill levels, our ASFL Challenge is unique in that it utilizes the very top talent in Massachusetts exclusively.
It is a competitive process to be chosen as an A Shot For Life shooter. We not only scout all prospective shooters closely, but we also look for people of great character. We are extremely proud of the 2016 roster as we welcome many new players into the A Shot For Life family. All of the participants involved in the A Shot For Life Challenge have committed to spending a significant amount of time and energy to raise money for brain cancer research. Their excitement and willingness to do so speaks volumes about who they are as people. Once again we will be holding a dunk contest after the Girls’ and Boys’ divisions compete. We will announce our dunk contest lineup at a later time.

“To see all of these really phenomenal young athletes unselfishly devoting their time and energy to cancer research through the sport they love is commendable to say the least. We’re very proud of all of the athletes in our program and our entire A Shot For Life family," said ASFL CEO and Founder Mike Slonina. "What makes the basketball program of the larger ASFL organization unique is that it’s not just basketball for a cause, but top talent basketball coming together for a cause. We really reloaded the roster this year with some incredibly talented young players.”
