Andover’s Mills D1 Bound
Phillips Andover guard Brenton Mills announced a verbal commitment to Binghamton on Thursday night.
Mills is a 6-foot-3 guard from the greater Dallas area in Texas who previously starred and graduated for his hometown Allen High School.
He had bounced around on the grassroots circuits spending time with Texas D1 Ambassadors, Basketball University, and, most recently, Nike Pro Skills in the EYBL and finished his high school career without a D1 offer. Allen picked up numerous suitors this summer though, including at least five offers ranging from the Patriot League to the Northeast Conference and America East. His interest continued to grow this fall during Andover open gyms as additional coaches continued to evaluate him.
He's proven an ability to score the ball in bunches this season, including a 34 point performance against St. Mark's and has been among the leaders of an Andover team that is off to a hot start with a 10-4 record including recent wins over both Tabor and Worcester.
Mills is an athletic combo-guard with an attacking style. He's at his best off the dribble on the offensive end but is also a good a good on-ball defender. He's working to make the transition into more of a lead guard and is also not an incapable shooting threat from the perimeter.
