Andover’s Filien Ivy Bound
Phillips Academy post-graduate big man Marcus Filien announced his verbal commitment to Cornell University on the morning of New Year's Eve.
The commitment is a dream scenario for the upstate New York native who arrived at Andover primarily with division II and III recruitment but clear division I potential.
The former Albany Academy product announced his decision via his twitter account:

Filien, who is the son of longtime college coach Pat Filien, is a skilled big man with a great frame to keep developing. He's made significant strides in recent years and had a solid summer playing Albany City Rocks Orange after playing with New York Havoc the year prior.
He has excellent touch around the basket, increasing floor spacing potential, good hands, a passing instinct, and is also mobile for his size. As he continues to develop, he should fit in well with Cornell's Princeton style offense.
Below are some of his summer highlights with the City Rocks.
