Alesso Makes His Decision
Bridgeport Prep's towering center, Stefano Alesso, has recently declared his commitment to the Stetson Hatters, a move that promises to make waves in the upcoming ASUN (Atlantic Sun Conference) season. Hailing from Argentina, Alesso brings a versatile skill set to the court, with the ability to dominate both inside the paint and beyond the arc. His standout performance, where he notched an impressive 38 points and 17 rebounds in late January, showcased his prowess and potential.
Currently ranked #5 in Connecticut's Class of 2024, Alesso has earned his spot through sheer dedication and talent. His stellar showing against the formidable nationally-ranked Putnam Science Academy, with 21 points and 8 rebounds, only solidified his status as a mid-major talent with the potential for high-major success.
In Alesso's own words, "The truth is that at Stetson everything was very convincing and comfortable. I am someone who has a hard time finding a place very quickly, but from minute one it was comfort at Stetson. The trainers are good and experienced, and I think there is a good plan for next season. And another important thing is, I love Florida.”
Reflecting on his journey, Alesso acknowledges the monumental leap in his career. "A year ago, I didn't even know where I was going to play, and now I have a good university, and with a lot of effort, a promising career ahead of me.”
With expectations high for his freshman year, Alesso is poised to make a significant impact on the court for Stetson. Keep an ear out for his name in the ASUN, as he gears up to embark on an exciting new chapter in his basketball career.
