AIC Lands Local Commitment

From Boston to Springfield!

American International College recently earned a commitment from one of the top players in the city of Boston.  David Campbell, a six-foot-six big man who led Madison Park to a tremendous season this past year, gave a verbal commitment to AIC head coach Art Luptowski last week.

“I feel like it’s the right fit for me,” Coleman told the New England Recruiting Report.  “They recruited me real hard and the coach is real good.”

Madison Park finished the 09-10 season with a 22-2 record, winning their second consecutive city championship and making a run to the semi-finals of the state tournament.

It was only the eventual state champions, Central Catholic, who were finally able to knock off Madison Park.  Despite the loss, Campbell stood out in his individual match-up against CC’s Carson Desrosiers, scoring 29 points against the Wake Forest bound big man.

While Campbell averaged 21 points and 14 rebounds per game, he said his biggest contribution to AIC next year would be on the defensive end of the floor as well as on the glass.

A strong and athletic big man who plays hard on both ends of the floor, Campbell should be able to provide an immediate physical presence inside the paint for an AIC team that finished with a 14-14 record this past season.
