Ahearn D1 Bound
Marianapolis Prep and Metro Boston forward Bobby Ahearn made a verbal commitment to Binghamton on Tuesday night.
The news was first reported by Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop.
Ahearn is coming off a strong summer that began with an impressive performance at the New England Elite 75 Showcase followed by an all-star showing at the Hoop Group Elite Camp. From there on out he starred with his Metro Boston squad as they traveled to New York for the BasketBull Summer Championships and then to Orlando for the AAU 11th Grade Super Showcase and AAU 11th Grade National Championship.
Ahearn began his career at Marshfield High School in Massachusetts before transferring to Marianapolis and repeating his freshman season.
He's seen his role consistently grow throughout each of the last three seasons at Marianapolis and was named honorable mention All-New England last year as a junior.
A skilled six-foot-six forward with an inside-out tool set, Ahearn is a major match-up problem because of his ability to stretch opposing defenses to the three-point line, attack bad close-outs, and create space inside the lane.
