Adams, Sharma at Adidas Nations
Jalen Adams and Josh Sharma are both in Los Angeles this week for Adidas Nations Global 2014, the culminating event of the Adidas Grassroots Basketball calendar.
The event is comprised of international all-star teams from the United States (four teams), Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, and Latin America and culminates with championship games that will be broadcast live Monday night on ESPNU.
Adams is on U.S. Howard along with other top national stars including Jaylen Brown, Chase Jeter, Derrick Jones and others. The team is being coached by former NBA star Jerry Stackhouse and College of Charleston head coach Tommy Herrion.
Sharma is suiting up for U.S. Rose along with the likes of Brandon Ingram, Carlton Bragg, Tyler Dorsey and others while being coached by former UCLA assistant coach Phil Matthews and professional skills coach Aubrey McCreary.
Adams played to rave reviews over the weekend, earning recognition from Scout.com’s Josh Gershon who said “Adams had a really impressive performance for Team Howard in the evening, using his handle and shiftiness to create his own shot, but also taking opponents off the dribble and creating for teammates.”
Sharma is expected to stay on the west coast for a few days following the conclusion of the event to visit Stanford later this week.
ESPNU’s live coverage from Adidas Nations will begin Monday night at 7pm with the 3rd place game followed by the championship game at 9pm.
