Abu, Terrell Cut it to 4
Just two weeks after previously announcing that they were trimming their respective lists to 10 schools, Abdul-Malik Abu and Jared Terrell both announced their final four schools through Expressions Elite head coach Tyron Boswell on Wednesday night.
Abu is down to Connecticut, Florida, North Carolina State, and Provide while Terrell will choose from Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Providence, and Rhode Island.
That means that if Abu and Terrell are going to school together, it will be to Providence College.
It also makes the Friars’ upcoming weekend all the more important, as Abu and Terrell are both expected to be on campus on Saturday for Providence’s Elite Camp, while Sunday’s charity game will welcome NBA Hall of Famer Ervin “Magic” Johnson to campus.
All four schools are considered to be legitimate candidates for both prospects at this point.
While Providence has followed both throughout the last two summers, Abu was also shadowed by UConn head coach Kevin Ollie throughout the month of July while Billy Donovan and Mark Gottfried were also frequently nearby as well.
URI head coach Danny Hurley and his staff were stuck to Terrell all month long, while he was also followed by the Cincinnati and Oklahoma State staffs.
No timetable was announced for their final decisions.
