9 local products featured in updated ESPN 100
ESPN updated their national rankings in the class of 2018 on Monday with a new ESPN 100.
Of those 100 top prospects from around the country, nine currently play in New England and two others have ties to the region.
The list begins with Vermont Academy forward Simisola Shittu, the recently named McDonald's All-American and Vanderbilt signee, who remains the region's lone five-star prospect and checks in at 11th on the list.
Cole Swider continues to climb the national charts as well as the Villanova signee and all time leading scorer in St. Andrew's history is now up to #34 in the country and just seven spots away from five-star territory.
Cushing Academy's David Duke and Brimmer & May's A.J. Reeves all made small gains as well to play their way into the top 50 while Northfield Mount Hermon forward Nate Laszewski is right behind at 51. Duke and Reeves are committed to Providence while Laszewski is headed to Notre Dame.
While he may not play in New England anymore there is another familiar name at 52 in former Avon Old Farms and Connecticut Basketball Club big man Filip Petrusev who signed with Gonzaga in the fall.
Milton Academy guard and Stanford signee Cormac Ryan maintained his four-star status and sits at 55 overall in the country while Brewster Academy forward and Wake Forest signee Isaiah Mucius checks in at 60. Another Brewster frontcourt product and Oregon signee Miles Norris checks in at 77. Tilton guard and Creighton signee Marcus Zegarowski as well as Putnam Science alum, and current IMG post-grad, Eric Ayala both cracked the top 100 as well.
