3 Named to USA Developmental Team

USA Basketball announced the participants for the Developmental National Team October Mini-Camp on Monday.  48 players were selected in all with representatives from the classes of 2014, 2015, and 2016 alike.

Three New England products were selected in Brewster Academy senior forward Chris McCullough, Wilbraham & Monson sophomore guard Mustapha Heron, and St. Andrew’s sophomore big man Terrell Brown.

The Mini-Camp will be Brown’s first experience with Team USA, although he did participate in the Nike 100 last June for the top underclassmen in the country.  Heron is returning to Team USA after a serious stomach illness prevented him from making last spring’s national team.  Brown and Heron were two of 21 players selected from the national class of 2016 and are both eligible for the 2013 U17 FIBA World Championship.

McCullough is one of just 12 players in the class of 2013 selected to attend the camp, none of whom will be eligible for the U17 Championship, but instead will be candidates for the 2014 USA U18 and USA Nike Hoop Summit teams.

The USA Basketball Developmental National Team Mini-Camp will take place from October 4th – 6th at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
