Introducing Jesse Morgan

Year in and year out the South Kent School assembles a roster filled with incredible talent.  This year the most notable name on the Cardinal roster may be J.J. Moore, a New York product who has already picked up scholarship offers from virtually everyone in the Big East.

But Moore’s running mate at South Kent is a guy by the name of Jesse Morgan, a versatile six-foot-four guard who is quickly developing a reputation of his own.

Morgan and South Kent head coach Kelvin Jefferson caught up with SNY’s Adam Zagoria yesterday.

Before arriving at South Kent Morgan was “as under recruited as anyone in the country,” Jefferson told Zagoria.

Seton Hall has been on the Philadelphia native hard since the beginning of the season, but on Monday Morgan picked up two more offers as Louisville head coach Rick Pittino and Rutgers head coach Fred Hill both offered a scholarship while in the South Kent gym.

Morgan lists his top five schools as Seton Hall, UConn, Louisville, Rutgers, and UMass and plans to visit Seton Hall this weekend and Louisville the following weekend.  He has already been to UConn, Florida, LaSalle, and Temple unofficially.

“I’m pretty much open,” Morgan told Zagoria.  “I want to go where I can play.”

On the floor, Morgan’s versatility may be his biggest weapon.  He has good size for a guard and is capable of playing all three perimeter positions.  He shoots the three very well but can also get to the rim and has a mid-range game.

Prior to arriving at South Kent Morgan starred at Olney High School in Philadelphia.
