For the second consecutive year, Cambridge took the state association's top prize by winning the Division I state championship. The fourth in a six part series, today we'll look back on the high schools season that was in the state of Vermont and the VPA. Rutland won the Division I state championship, defeating Champlain Valley Union 43-37 in overtime to win the school's first state championship since 1967. For the second time in as many weeks, one of the best players in New England has asked for a release from his National Letter of Intent. Brewster Academy guard Thomas Allen, who signed with his hometown school N.C. State in November, requested his release on Thursday after meeting with new head coach Kevin Keatts.
