Four local sophomores - Jermaine Samuels (Rivers School), Kimani Lawrence (Cushing Academy), Philmon Gebrewhit (New Mission) and Samuel Japhet-Mathias (Vermont Academy) - are currently in St. Louis, Missouri on the campus of St. Louis University for the annual Nike Elite One Hundred. ESPN Releases National Rankings

ESPN released updated national rankings this week beginning with a new ESPN 100 in the class of 2016 on Tuesday followed by the ESPN 60 of 2017 on Wednesday. New England was well represented on both lists. UMass Gets a Unique Guard

UMass kicked off what is expected to be a big 2016 recruiting class with a local prep product on Tuesday when Unique McLean committed to the Minutemen. The six-foot-one guard spent his junior sesason at nearby MacDuffie School after beginning his high school career at the Hoosac School. Dondre Rhoden, who spent his post-graduate year at Putnam Science Academy this year, realized his division I dream on Tuesday night when he accepted a full division I scholarship offer from Farleigh Dickinson University. The Vermont Academy Basketball program hosted a professional development event yesterday for AAU, college and high school coaches New England. Kimball Union Academy and New England Playaz guard Crew Ainge committed to Utah State on Saturday, following an official visit to their campus earlier this week.
