ZG Battle for the Belt Preview
The Path to the Belt is now complete as the last six weeks on the Zero Gravity circuit will culminate with this weekend’s Battle for the Belt.
The Battle for the Belt is the grand prize of the fall travel season and features over 525 teams making it the biggest fall grassroots tournament in recent New England history.
The varsity division is absolutely loaded with the best the region has to offer in that age group. BABC will be looking to defend their 2016 championship while the contenders will include the likes of Expressions, Mass Rivals, Middlesex Magic, WrightWay Skills, Rhode Island Elite, Rise Above, EVOelite, Mass Select, Boston Bobcats, and over 40 others.
There are 35 more teams competing for a ZG Belt in the 10th grade division. Mass Rivals, Expressions, Middlesex Magic, and Boston Bobcats will again be among the most notable programs in contention but other challengers will also consist of Central Mass Swarm, Mass Elite, and Cobras among others.
The 9th grade division is the biggest of them all with 50 different teams all fighting for one belt. BABC will return to the fold here and compete against the likes of Expressions EYBL, Boston Bobcats Elite, Boston Spartans 2022, Brockton Reign Elite, and Massasoit Warriors among others.
In total, that’s over 100 teams in the high school boys divisions alone.
