TJ Robinson to Prep at St. Thomas More

TJ Robinson has seen his game grow by leaps and bounds in the last few years.  He has gone from a player whose impact on the floor was based primarily on his size and athleticism in his underclassmen years, to a player who now has a well rounded and versatile game.  And it appears as if his maturation on the floor will only continue as he plans to attend St. Thomas More next year.

“I’m real excited to play for Coach Quinn,” said Robinson.  “Everyone says what a great coach he is and how he gets the most out of his players.”

If Robinson can continue to develop his skill level then the sky is the limit for him as he already has the prototypical 3 man’s build standing at 6’8 with impressive strength and athleticism.  With all of that potential it is easy to see why he is hearing from a number of Big East schools now that he is listed in the class of 2008.

“Houston and New Mexico State have already offered,” he said, “and I’ve been hearing from Seton Hall and St. John’s a lot lately too.”

And while being recruited at the highest level is obviously flattering to Robinson he indicated there will be more important factors to consider as he makes his decision.

“I’m looking to play at the highest level and playing time is important too,” he said, “but the most important thing is going somewhere where I fit in with my teammates.”

Robinson will certainly have a teammate who he can fit in with next year in Devin Ebanks, one of the top ten players in the country according to scout.com.  With a frontcourt led by Robinson and Ebanks and a coach of Jere Quinn’s stature you can bet that St. Thomas More will be one of the top prep school teams in the country next year.
