Prep Bound

This is the time of year when lots of seniors say they are going to prep school.  Inevitably, some of those players end up heading to college or junior college.  But today we bring you some prep school commitments that are definitive.

•  Aziz Dieng will head to Pomfret Academy (Pomfret, CT) in class B of the NEPSAC.  Dieng follows in the footsteps of Josh Paulino who he played with during the AAU season.

•  Johrone Bunch will play football and basketball at Avon Old Farms (Avon, CT) next year.  While his recruitment on the gridiron is said to exceed the court, he should be a valuable two sport contributor.

•  Pat Donnelly is another two sport athlete who will star in both football and basketball.  After graduating from Longmeadow High School (Longmeadow, MA) the sharp-shooting swingman will head to Phillips Exeter Academy (Exeter, NH).

•  One of the best seniors in Vermont will stay at home for another year as D.J. Campbell will head to Vermont Academy (Saxtons River, VT).  Campbell will continue to run with the Lone Wolf AAU program this spring and summer.

•  Robert Harrigan will also stay in his home state for another year as the St. Joseph’s High School (Trumbull, CT) star will head to St. Thomas More (Oakdale, CT) next year to play for Jere Quinn.

•  Northfield Mount Hermon (Northfield, MA) has landed an impressive local trio as Tim McKinney, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Andrew McCarthy have all committed.  McKinney and McCarthy looked particularly impressive at the Greater Boston All-Star game while Fitzpatrick is hoping to land in the Ivy or Patriot League.

•  Metro Boston Head Coach Maurice Vasquez has confirmed that Chris Flores will head to Marianapolis Prep (Thompson, CT) next year.  Flores is a sharp-shooting two guard who should form a potent duo with Cory Wright Jr.
