Notre Dame Alum Transfers to A-10

Jake Barnett, a post-graduate at Notre Dame Prep from 2008-2009, will transfer to St. Louis next year according to his father.

Barnett committed to Toledo during his post-graduate year and was the Rocket's captain and leading scorer this season as a freshman.  However following the unexpected resignation of head coach Gene Cross, Barnett received his release from the school.

Barnett, a six-foot-six swingman averaged 12.9 points per game last season while shooting 37% from the three-point line and 80% from the free-throw line, earning Mid-American Conference All-Freshman honors.

Now, Barnett will take his game to St. Louis to play for head coach Rick Majerus.

Barnett will sit out the 2010-2011 season per NCAA transfer rules, but will have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in the 2011-2012 season.
