National Prep Showcase Schedule Announced

The 2010 National Prep Showcase features one of the most talented fields in the event’s prestigious history.  23 of the top post-graduate programs from around the country were selecting to participate in this event including each of the top ten schools in the country.

The action will tip off on Friday, November 19th with the first of seven games featuring Northfield Mount Hermon against Fork Union Military Academy.  At 12:15 two of the top teams in the country will go head to head as Fishburne Military Academy faces off against Notre Dame Prep.  Later in the day another epic match-up will take place as Hargrave Military Academy meets South Kent School.  Connecticut native Andre Drummond and his St. Thomas More team will take on Lee Academy at 5:15.

Eight games are on tap for Saturday beginning bright and early as annual NEPSAC powerhouse Bridgton Academy faces Fork Union.  St. Thomas More will return to action at 10:45 facing Princeton Day and their legendary coach Chris Chaney, who is returning to the prep ranks in 2010-2011 while Hargrave will hope that sharp-shooting New Hampton doesn’t catch fire at 12:30.  The defending national champions, Brewster Academy, will take to the court at 2:15 to face Fishburne.  St. Mark’s returns to the National Prep Showcase field this year, and takes on Lee Academy with a 7:30 tip.

The event will conclude on Sunday with six match-ups beginning with Brewster Academy against Princeton Day at 10 followed by a NEPSAC AAA contest between Northfield Mount Hermon and Maine Central Institute at 11:45.  Another all New England match-up will take at 5 as Wilbraham and Monson will face off against the Tilton School in a match-up of two of the region’s most talented young programs.  St. Andrew’s will close the event by taking on Blair Academy once again this year.

In 2009 the National Prep Showcased was scouted by over 200 college coaches and covered by over 30 media outlets.

In total the 2010 National Prep Showcase will feature 23 teams, well over 100 division I prospects, and over 15 of the top 100 prospects in the country.  To view the 2010 National Prep Showcase schedule in its entirety please click here.
