Lubick is Parade All-American

Nate Lubick was recently named to the 54th annual Parade All-America High School Basketball Team. 

Forty players from around the country were selected for the honor with ten each being named first, second, third, and fourth team members.  Lubick was named a third team All-American as one of the top 30 players in the country.  He was the only local New England player selected. 

Parade’s All-American Team will be announced in its entirety when the April issue of the magazine is released on April 4th. 

The Parade All-American status is the latest in a long line of deserving accolades to come Lubick’s way after being named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Massachusetts as both a junior and a senior, a nominee for the McDonald’s All-American game, and a top ten performer in last summer’s NBA Player’s Association Camp.  

Lubick had a storied career at St. Mark’s, reaching the NEPSAC finals in each of his four seasons and claiming two championships.  In total he recorded 1,833 career points and 857 rebounds. 

This season St. Mark’s went 23-7, made another run to the Class C finals, and scored a mid-season upset over Class A powerhouse Winchendon.  Lubick averaged 21.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game. 

Lubick made an immediate impact upon reaching the high school level four years ago.  In fact, he received his first division I scholarship offer (Colgate) before ever playing in a high school game and scored 21 points the first time he ever put on a St. Mark’s uniform. 

A consensus top 50 player in the country by every major scouting service, Lubick saw recruitment from some of the very best high major college basketball programs in the country.  But also a high level student in the classroom, Lubick was intent to choose from among the very best academic high majors in the country and ultimately selected Georgetown over Michigan, Stanford, and a host of others.
