NEPSAC Class A Semi’s

Bridgton Academy 68 Brewster Academy 58

Bridgton held off Brewster in a hard fought match-up on Friday night.  The Wolverines advance to Sunday’s final looking for their fourth NEPSAC title in the last four years.

South Kent 85 Winchendon 73

The top seed put up another big number on Friday night as the Cardinals continue to score a lot of points.  South Kent advances to play Bridgton in a 4pm Sunday final at Endicott College. 

NEPSAC Class B Semi’s

Tilton 93 Hotchkiss 72

The Rams continue to plow through the field as their latest 20+ point victory came at the expense of the Hotchkiss School.  Jamal Coombs McDaniel led the way with 29 while Scotty Tavares chipped in with 24. 

Marianapolis Prep 61 Brimmer & May 55

Marianapolis pulled out a victory in the rubber match with Brimmer & May, having split their two games during the season.  That sets up a rematch of last year’s class B final with MP taking on Tilton on Sunday at 2pm. 

NEPSAC WNE Semi’s

Loomis 55 Kent 52

Andy Barbalich hit a huge three-pointer to break a 52-52 tie with one minute to play and L.J. Dimanche iced the game at the free-throw line as the top seeded Pelicans advance to Saturday’s 1pm final.

Choate 55 Salisbury 49

C.J. Ruskay (21 points, 12 rebounds) and Jason Pancoe (24 points) went back and forth in an entertaining individual match-up.  Ultimately, Choate held on for the victory, winning on the second seed’s home floor. 

NEPSAC Class C Semi’s

Holderness 58 Nobles 51

Their run continues!  Two days after upsetting Lawrence Academy, Holderness knocked off the third seed Nobles on Friday night to advance to Sunday’s 12pm final. 

St. Mark’s 90 Middlesex 44

They appear to be on a mission as they scored a huge victory over a good Middlesex team.  Erik Murphy had 21, Melsahn Basabe 14, Nate Lubick 10, and Alex Murphy 10. 

NEPSAC Class D1

Pingree 61 Boston Trinity 54

Allen Williamson and his club scored a mini-upset by knocking off the top seed and advancing to Sunday’s final. 

Bancroft 68 Christian Heritage 56

Cinderella is still dancing as Bancroft defeated Christian Heritage only two days after going into Providence Country Day and stealing a win. 

NEPSAC Class D2

Beaver Country Day 60 Watkinson 51

After getting a bye in the first round, BCD pulled away from Watkinson in the game’s final minutes to get to Sunday’s final.

Cambridge Weston 56 Concord Academy 43

Cambridge Weston defeated a cross town rival and punched their ticket to Suffield Academy and a match-up with BCD in the final. 

CIAC Conference Titles Decided

Windsor Takes CCC – Windsor High School used their trademark defensive pressure while spreading the ball around on the offensive end to defeat East Hartford High School and take the Central Connecticut Conference Championship.

Hillhouse Claims SCC – The Academics ran away with this one as their defense was tremendous throughout the entire tournament.  Senior Jeremy Moore led the way on both ends of the floor, picking up MVP honors.

Crosby Wins NVL for 6th Straight Time – No Damian Saunders, No B.J. Monteiro…no problem.  Crosby overcame a 52 point performance from Jordan Williams as Anthony Ireland continued his tremendous senior season with 29 points. 

Stamford Owns FCIAC – It took 2 overtimes but ultimately Stamford was on a mission as they knocked off the state’s top ranked team Trinity Catholic behind 26 points from Chris Evans. 

New London Overcomes in ECC – Torin Harris claimed MVP honors with 22 points including the go ahead jumper with just 5 seconds left on the clock to give New London a 51-48 win over NFA despite being without 2 starters and 4 rotation players. 

Middletown Takes NWC – Middletown continued their impressive run by scoring a win over Northwest Catholic in the NWC final.  Taeshawn Jackson and P.J. Santavenere led the way for Middletown. 

Shoreline belongs to Cromwell – Cromwell and Hyde had split the season series in dramatic style, but Cromwell scored the rubber match in Friday’s Shoreline final behind Isiah Salafia’s 16 points. 

Bunnell Surprises in SWC – Bunnell won the school’s first conference title in 23 years by knocking off the favored Notre Dame-Fairfield.  MVP Terrell Coward had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
