ESPN Releases National Rankings

ESPN released updated national rankings this week beginning with a new ESPN 100 in the class of 2016 on Tuesday followed by the ESPN 60 of 2017 on Wednesday.

New England was well represented on both lists.

MacDuffie School big man Omari Spellman held firm to the 16th spot in the national rankings while Sacred Heart High School guard Mustapha Heron and Vermont Academy guard Bruce Brown held serve as well in the 26th and 56th spots nationally. Wilbraham and Monson forward Wenyen Gabriel made his first appearance in the national rankings, debuting in the 84th spot while Woodstock Academy big man Mamadou Diarra also cracked the list for the first time in the 98th spot.

In the class of 2017, Woodstock Academy guard Hamidou Diallo makes his debut and also takes over as the top ranked prospect in New England, coming in 30th overall. Jermaine Samuels, who had already been ranked nationlly, isn't far behind in the 35th spot while South Kent point guard Tremont Waters appears for the first time in the 36th spot.
