Commitment Catch-Up

•  Wheaton College seems to be landing a steal as Anthony Weeks appears poised to land on the Massachusetts campus.  Weeks was a consistent staple of Worcester Academy’s starting line-up for the past two years.

•  The Clark Brothers (Brian Clark and Dan Clark) will stay together next year as they head to Salem State.  The twins combined for 47 points in this year’s MIAA Division III championship game to lead Frontier Regional High School to the state crown.

•  New Hampton center Hassan Safieddine has earned a scholarship from division II Flagler College in Florida.

•  Putnam Science Academy's 7'0" Rundell Mauge has signed his letter of Intent and scholarship agreement form to attend North Platte Community College in North Platte, Nebraska.  During the 2007-2008 season Mauge was the Coastal Prep League Conference Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American nominee while averaging 22.9 points, 18.6 rebounds, and 8.5 blocks per game.

•  Several other players will also be headed to junior/community college as Aloysius Henry will attend Three Rivers Community College, George Jgerenaia will be attending Pensacola Junior College, and Peterson Bernard heads to Cabrillo College on a full scholarship.  Meanwhile Robert Wesley, Mason Kenny, and Bruce Sobers are all expected to end up at CCRI next season.

•  Van Dellenbeck-Ouellette was so intent to return to the west coast that he spurned several division I scholarship offers on the east coast in order to attend Evergreen State, a division II NIAA school in the state of Washington.

•  Another MCI product, Boyan Tenev, is heading to Linoln Memorial University, a division II school in Tennessee.

•  Uche Egesionu will attend Wentworth Institute of Technology where he should be able to make an immediate impact on the basketball court while also studying engineering.  He will be joined by 5’11” point guard Gabe Nicasio from Essex High School in Vermont.

•  Brandon Tomah, who did a post-graduate year at Lee Academy this season, will stay local as he heads to Southern Maine where he should be able to see a significant amount of playing time in his freshman season.

•  Will Clark of the Holderness School is another player who should have a solid four year career at the next level, as he heads to Utica College.

•  6’0” guard Victor Kashouh from Classical High School in Providence, Rhode Island will stay fairly close to home and attend Wheelock College in Massachusetts.

•  Two players from the state of Vermont are headed to Clarkson as 6’5” forward Dan Bisaccio and 6’4” Kevin Labas will both be Golden Knights next season.

•  Meanwhile Matt Joslin, a 6’0” guard from North Country High School in Vermont, heads to Babson.

•  Another Vermont native, 6’1” swingman Greg Hughes from West Rutland High School, will attend the University of Vermont and walk-on to the team.

•  Suffolk University has landed a talented duo as St. Thomas More’s Luke Barrett comes in to anchor the point guard position while 6’6” big man Matt Connolly from Medfield High School should provide some depth up front.

•  Mike Ryce (Maine) and Adam Chicoine (Endicott) head to college next year, but not to play basketball, instead they will be suiting up for their respective football teams.
