Commitment Catch-Up

While the focus of the recruiting world has now shifted to the class of 2017 and beyond, there are still some unsigned seniors left in the class of 2016, although that list got a little shorter this week.

Here's a look at a handful of recent commitments from local New England products.

• Wilton-Lyndeborough point guard Tyler Carrier is headed to Cairn University, just outside of Philadelphia. Carrier is a product of the Mass Elite AAU program who is known for his tireless work ethic as a player. During the high school season, he and younger brother Trey, were one of the top duos in the NHIAA this year. He was also instrumental to his team's run to the 2015 state championship in New Hampshire. Below are some of his video highlights.
• A pair of Worcester Academy prospects recently came off the board as it was announced that Weston Hannon-Bogosh is heading to Union College next year and Lyle Logan to Suffolk University. The post-graduates both previously starred at Francis Parker High School in Chicago before coming to the NEPSAC together. Hannon-Bogosh is a skilled big guard who shoots the ball especially well from behind the three-point line and has worked hard to improve his conditioning and quickness this year. Logan is a utility guard and accomplished defender who is also known for being a great teammate.
• Kimball Union Academy is also sending a pair of 2016 products off to high academic colleges as Ross Gerber heads to Catholic University in Washington D.C. and Cooper Williams to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Gerber is a 6-foot-5 forward who was a consistent staple of KUA's attack this year as a senior, providing a potential double figure scorer, hard-nosed competitor inside the paint and versatile defender. Williams is a 6-foot-4 swingman who shoots the ball especially well from behind the three-point line and has the potential to play multiple positions at the next level.
• Cushing Academy post-graduate Daylon Carter will be headed back closer to his home in Pittsburgh as he'll continue his career at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania outside of Harrisburg. Carter is a 6-foot-4 southpaw swingman who played an important role in Cushing's success all season long. He's a good athlete, who covers the court, is a valuable two-way player and seemed to make a variety of big shots in big moments for the Penguins this season. Shippensburg is a division II school that competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
