All-Academic Camp - Day 2 AM Recap

With over 100 college coaches swarming Brandeis University for the morning set of games at the All Academic Camp, the following players stood out:

T.J. Rountree (Cheshire Academy, 2018)- Roundtree, who will be taking in a post-graduate year at Cheshire Academy, was one of the more impressive prospects in the AAC field.  His athleticism is a notch above the rest, and he gets to the hoop with ease, while his ability to drain jumpers makes him a well-known three-range scoring threat.

Jordan Caruso (Gould Academy, 2018)- Caruso is one of the field's high flyers this year.  Appearing to hang in mid-air, Caruso also has a strong feel for the game, as shown by his passing ability in the open court and half court.  He knows where every open teammate is on the court, and, combined with his athleticism, should be a great addition for Gould this winter.

Lucas Grandison (Phillips Exeter, 2020)- Standing at 6'4, the California native has plenty of potential and should be a fun prospect to watch over the next few years.  A long wing, Grandison possesses a lot of raw skill that, similar to his Holy Cross-bound brother, will look to be extracted from playing in the NEPSAC.

Rhett Carter (Milton Academy, 2019)- Carter continues to show improvement with his perimeter skills.  He seemed very comfortable catching & shooting a 17-foot jumper, and this addition to his skill set should only make him a more dangerous offensive player.

Luke Webb (Chaminade HS, 2018)- Another California native, Webb has a frame that can fill out in the coming years, and uses his wide shoulders to initiate contact inside the lane to get better position to convert layups.

Dillon Grant (St. Andrew's, 2018)- The 6'9 incoming post-graduate from Cape Cod, Grant proved he can score on the block and has a soft touch on his perimeter jumper.  Underrated for a big, Grant also sets good screens that the talented St. Andrew's backcourt should benefit from this upcoming winter.

Griffin McNally (Walt Shitman HS)- McNally made one of the signature fundamental moves of the morning.  Catching the ball on the baseline, the 6'5 forward got his shot fake above his head so his defender jumped to bite on it.  He ripped the ball to the middle, took one dribble, and finished an overhand layup through contact to give his team the lead late in the quarter.

Abdulraheem Abuissa (Williston Northampton, 2018)- The 6'3 wing can flat out score.  Elusive with his ability to clear contact while driving, Abuissa moves very well laterally on both offense and defense, and is a threat to use that to deftly maneuver past his defenders once he gets in the lane.

Sho Kinugawa (Natick HS)- The rising senior point guard can really shoot off the bounce.  He is a solid passer who can control his team on the floor and get the ball to the right person at the right time.

Charlie Reiss (Avon HS, 2018)- Reiss attacked the basket throughout the morning, initiating contact with his strong upper body.  He uses his physicality on both ends of the court, and on both ends of the boards, as well.
