2017 Rankings Announced

New England Recruiting Report | Wednesday, January 27th, 2016

Following up on the release of updating rankings in the class of 2016 yesterday, today marks the release of updated rankings in the class of 2017, including all six states as well as New England as a whole.

The top four remains unchanged as Putnam Science Academy guard Hamidou Diallo remains the #1 junior in the region followed by a pair of point guards in Cushing Academy’s Makai Ashton-Langford and South Kent’s Tremont Waters. River School’s Jermaine Samuels is the fourth nationally ranked product in the class.

In total, the class of 2017 appears to be the best in New England at the moment as there is star power and depth alike, especially given the addition of new prospects to the prep ranks and the emergence of other local products in recent months.

CoxHub has profiled both some of the most notable newcomers and stock-risers to the 2017 rankings.

The 2017 class already features more than 15 players with high-major offers currently on the table and more than 20 others with early division I offers. With so much time still left in their high school careers, those numbers will only continue to increase and inevitably rankings will continue to evolve as well.

One thing is for sure though, this 2017 class looks poised to be on par with some of the top classes we’ve seen in New England in the last ten years.
